Denied Life Insurance Benefits

Don't accept a denial without an independent opinion

An insured individual purchased a life insurance policy to ensure his family would be financially protected in the event of his death. Sadly, he passed away nearly two years after the policy took effect.

When the beneficiary submitted a claim, the insurer denied it, alleging that the insured had misrepresented his health by failing to disclose a medical condition on the application.

Our Office conducted a thorough review of the policy and the medical records. Based on the information available, we determined that the insurer’s decision to deny the claim was not justified.

We engaged in extensive correspondence with the insurer, advocating on behalf of the beneficiary and providing relevant case law supporting the validity of the claim.

After several months of discussions, the insurer reversed its decision and paid the full life insurance benefit, including interest from the date of death until the date of payment.
