When a Repair Doesn't Feel Right

A consumer contacted our office after becoming increasingly frustrated with the handling of vehicle repairs following a claim. While the repairs had been completed, the consumer remained concerned that the paint colour did not match properly.

The repair facility maintained that the work met industry standards, and the insurer relied on that assessment. Feeling that his concerns were not being heard, the consumer asked our office to review the matter.

After discussing the issue with the insurer, a closer review was completed. Ultimately, the insurer agreed to revisit the concern with the repair facility, and arrangements were made for the paint work to be redone.

Consumer takeaway: If you remain dissatisfied after a claim repair is completed, it is reasonable to ask questions and ensure your concerns are properly reviewed before the matter is considered resolved.
