Policy was reinstated

A client’s insurance policy was cancelled for non-payment, a situation that can have serious and long-lasting consequences on an individual’s insurance record and future ability to obtain coverage at reasonable rates. Upon becoming aware of the cancellation, the client immediately contacted his insurance broker and made every effort to rectify the situation. Unfortunately, despite his prompt actions, the matter was not resolved. The client advised that he had not received any notice of the missed payment, nor had he received a registered letter notifying him of the impending cancellation.

Following our intervention, we engaged with the insurer to review the circumstances surrounding the cancellation. After considering the facts, the insurance company agreed that the matter resulted from a misunderstanding and acknowledged the client’s efforts to address the issue as soon as he became aware of it. As a result, the insurer reinstated the policy without interruption and removed the missed payment and cancellation from the client’s record. This outcome prevented the client from experiencing the significant negative consequences that can arise from a cancellation for non-payment and restored his insurance standing.
